On a lighter note . . .

"Ode to the Feminist"

Why do they taunt us?
Oh, why do they tease?
Because they arouse in us,
oh, whatever the please!
A sharp edgy wit, so bright and free
Or a vicious pout, stabbing at me
Her voice calling thru eternity:
like the soft whispering wind stroking the sky
They say they cannot speak?
Yet they have the world at their feet!
Why else would we devour our time in search of you my sweet?

Ah, that's fantastic! Superb! Bang on! I'm still laughing! Exactly what we needed after our somber posts for earlier!

Of course, _I'M_ not like that...much...but that's beside the point!

<g> Good job!

Erm....I realized I didn't have one, and I couldn't think of anything happy to write last night that wasn't sappy. I'll work on it this afternoon, I promise!

Okay, well...this isn't really happy, per se, but it contains the first step towards thinking happy, I think.. Maybe. Whatever.

So comes winter...

Hard and violent
with a creeping chill
to kill the lifeforce
of a thousand starving artists.

Tormented souls struggle once more
then curl up against the cold to die.

But a poem is evidence to the contrary.

I love it, it's real stuff to, those artists in NYC that you hear about are really there, and the city can be a graveyard for artists in the winter . . . on a happier note, I did my bit by buying a very nice painting from one of them . . . or the poem actually could be in reference to Pat Buchanon's Presidential bid.

"And the first thing I'll do as President is to go to the National Endowment for the Arts building and fumigate it, then replace it with a new IRS building."
--Pat Buchanon, Reform Party (shudder to think)
