time and time again
i look up
it's not like it's easy on me
the roads that that everyone sees
and wonder if you walked one of them
the way it is you wouldn't have to try
and I wish you knew how much I missed you
when I see trails in the november sky


the knot that slipped
the thread undone
you slipped away right in front of me
left me unfinished
one day done
it's a bit of a walk back
on a trail in the november sky



and a time in the sun
when you smiled at me
turned away, playfully
and a day in the cold
when I wasn't enough
even though you tried to hold onto me


and maybe theres a picture in my mind
one that I can't find
something I should let go of
if it'd only be left behind.
it's not a matter of what it is
cos we die just to rise again
and you don't ask why.
