As I look out the window,
All plate glass and chrome,
I realise I hate this office,
And want to be home.
As I sit in the traffic,
The cars are like ants,
I'm tempted to leave it,
And get get up and dance.
Instead I contemplate it,
Why life moves so fast,
And when its nearly over,
We rue the time passed.
And so I promise,
Not to take life for granted,
Maybe water that tree,
That last summer I planted.
I will play with the kitten,
That I promised to love,
Next time with my parents,
I'll give them a hug.
I will re-learn to skip,
And learn to bask in the sushine,
As this life is so short,
And yet, it is mine.
I will take up that archery,
And how to mold clay,
Tho' still trapped in that office,
I will start it, today.
All plate glass and chrome,
I realise I hate this office,
And want to be home.
As I sit in the traffic,
The cars are like ants,
I'm tempted to leave it,
And get get up and dance.
Instead I contemplate it,
Why life moves so fast,
And when its nearly over,

And so I promise,
Not to take life for granted,
Maybe water that tree,
