Sometimes in this life we come across people we feel a deep connection to and we can't even explain it. Sometimes we aren't smart enough to hold on to what is dear to us. Sometimes we get second chances only to screw it all up again.
Here's a little poem I wrote just to get out a bit of my own frustrations...
The days blur together now,
I know you are really gone.
I?d like to turn the pain around,
but I have absolutely no idea how
Alone, I just don?t belong
And I miss the feelings you brought to me
I can?t even remember how happy feels
It?s like some sad country song
I?d reach out to you if you?d let me
But that?s a dream from a time long ago
I wish I could call you my friend again
But I?m trying to stay gone to make you happy
I miss the laughter I had with you
The long nights on the phone
Just talking about everything and nothing
I wish I could rewind it and we could start out new.
It?s time to say good-bye my friend
And pretend like it never was
I?ll put my heart up on the shelf
but in it you will always be my light, my world, my friend.
