It's late night, early morning
haven't slept for days
since the last time I heard the waves crashing
and I didn't have to see the sun
but now it shines all day
and its so bright burns

When you can't sleep
the sky so empty and grey
and the world's already gone
times ticking and I'm slipping,
and the night is so deep
all I want, is the longest sleep

Close my eyes, it' aches
turn off the light
Do you still remember me where you are
just move on the tides
and baby there's a time to turn away
and a time to crawl
but right now, it's time to keep my head down
and let myself give way

When you can't sleep
the sky so empty and grey
and the world's already gone
times ticking and I'm slipping,
and the night is so deep
all I want, is the longest sleep

You sleep, I'll bleed tonight
I'd get some rest,
if the sun would set
but when you wake up
wait for me.

this poem kind of reminded me of "elvis presley and america"

is that line in EP&A?

maybe I stole it inintentionally..

Damn!!! for a second I thought I was the genius!!!!!

I liked this...deep and dark like my thoughts....yet the
words strike me as somewhat soothing.

actually I thought you had taken sentiments from U2 songs and made them into a poem.. not exactly lines but more like moods and some phrases... I often am subconciously/consciously influenced by them too. But, I like the flow of the poem on its own a lot, it *sounds* like a song too, and there are many visuals I can picture when I read this.
