horizontal arms and vertical rays
like the graph of our timeline,
you fail to discover the numbers in my heart
like the unsolved equation of heaven and hell.
we like to scrape our chairs across grey floors
like singing lullabies to a child,
and then watch the twinkling of stars
like the blood of a massacre smeared across our night sky.
but there's more to this beauty in our silence.
one day we will embrace aluminum sculptures during the night.
my heart is sealed behind a glass display case,
and your heart is seen but never touched.
sometimes it's okay to avoid collisions.
lost somewhere in between everything and everyone,
an abandoned reflection is stolen and preserved.
between the dead candles and melted ice,
his heart becomes the hero and compromise of an unknown story.
I can feel his warmth through my beautiful glass walls,
like the air that passes through my lungs.
I refuse to allow him into the blood of the massacre
you and I once smeared across our sky.
if I lost his warmth...
.. I'd strip away my glass walls to breathe you in again..
... just to breathe you back out.
