Felt the pain on my fingertips
Felt the stillness of the breeze
Never took the time to see the world
I was lost
Lost all my trust
It's true I was lost...

I saw the frost in the desert
I saw the bulls rage
I saw my dignity collide
On center stage

I'm on my way down
'Cuz this elevator never goes up
The staircases have no end
No help you can send

The door slams shut in my face
I can't get anywhere
In this deserted place
People all they could do was stare
As happiness disappeared into the air

Somedays are hard
Sometimes it's tough
Can't seem to get enough
Always fighting for nothing at all

Nothing to stand up for
Nothing to believe in
When time is a pest
And pain is better than the rest
You run and you don't look back

Lights flicker and fade
On a midnight street
No thought seems
To be complete
And the lights go down
On the midnight street
