Some see life as a glass half-empty, some see as half-full......except that as a wizard I see it as the sands of time.

It’s Either

It’s either you’re in
or you’re not in at all
poverty is not fashionable
but luxury is the thing
show off the lucky ones
while the losers....
they die young.

A world of desolation
where people are self-involved
I am the great I am....
the rest are not at all.
Talk at me but don’t listen
don’t see
don’t hear
the sounds of deathbeds...
A world of desolation
where people don’t understand.

Is this a world at all
my eyes see so much wrong
while others see it right.
They say it is the way “to be”
I say let’s help instead.
Tomorrow appears today
and it’s the same thing over again.
Years pass and lives die...
they say that’s how it always is.

Except when it’s their turn
to face their destiny
they want whatever it takes
to keep them alive today.
There’s a lesson to be learned
for the mistakes Mankind has made
and class will be in session
sooner than Mankind thinks....
“Time” is in an hour-glass
and the sand is running down.

People are too obsessed with living, it seems.

Part of my confidence in this world stems from my ... disconsideration for the "need" to live others so often express, and I don't fear death, like I don't fear life

Like Bono said - "I'm not afraid to die, I'm not afraid to live, but when I'm flat on my back, I hope to feel like I did."

A fine portrait of mankind.

Reminds me of my ideas of irrelevance. It doesn't really matter in regards to most things. Some people are born here, some their. But their lifetime is running out, so it's all about what you can do in this little time we have.

Or does that even matter?
See, you can go around in circles forever.

but you still have to decide
who you are and what you want to do

That, really, is what I think life is about.

Thank you both for your thoughts.

I often look at Mankind as what was discussed in another post ........an "observer".

Say you were somewhere in the great space of time and looked down upon this World {Earth let's call it}.....that's how I come up with my writings oftentimes. Not just looking at one particular life but the whole scenario of life upon Earth. Great to be there from the space shuttle's point of view......but they have their own problems.

Yes, but do we have much choice?

I am one of the most serious people I know.
But I don't have issues with things, like some people do.
I don't quite understand this about myeslf yet, though....

But if I was told I'd die tomorrow, I wouldn't really care.
I'd be dissapointed, lots of things I wanted to do

But those emotions, fear
It's so typical and predictable.

Being afraid of death is like being afraid of being born.

Both are similar. One might be more painful.
But you don't remeber either, even if others do.
So

your being born and your death don't depend from you (except some particular situations)

Indifference is, IMO, the worst thing we have today.
For example, some days ago I was talking to a girl, and she said she hated what Live 8 did because it was wrong and she arrives also to say that the money raised with Live Aid in 1985 went to the armed groups in Ethiopia. I don't know if this is right, but I think that one can't just seat down and let things go on. At a certain point, you must take action and maybe the things you are going to do won't be the best and won't fix the problems.
But maybe they'll be of helping for someone else, who won't repeat the mistakes you did.
