Some people fill up the world -
Their lights are so bright...
Their bodies can't contain them...
And that light spills out onto everyone standing near -
I knew a person like that - her name was Harriette
Her life's work was teaching children
Filling them with that light and with love
And mine were blessed to know her
I think sometimes those lights burn so bright
That they burn out too soon...
And leave those of us who were around blinking in the darkness
When she left the world
She took a bit of it with her
And I am missing that piece
(for Harriette, God bless her - may she rest in peace)
