I?m dying

It?s not my fault though
You told me to do it
Do what?s right
I?ve always been wrong
I wanted to be right
Just once

I?m dying

Take these pieces
Pieces of me
And make someone else
Someone of use
Please make her beautiful
Because I never was

I?m dying

Don?t tell him I loved him
It will make him cry
I don?t want him to fake it
For my sake
He can save his tongue
To speak of his new beauty

I?m dying

I?m slipping away
I see the mirror
The crooked mouth
The dull eyes
Reflecting my life
The life I destroyed

BC, to tell the truth, this one scares me.

here's a forward I just got and it's a shorter version of something I did awhile ago (if this stupid thing lets me post it).

try making a list of things you love, absolutely anything that comes to mind. it's very uplifting

this is so well written and the emotional release is so pure, yet I hope this is more art than real life

it reminds me a little of the Hole song "Doll Parts"

I wish I could give you a hug... unfortunately the most beautiful poems are usually drenched in sorrow

When I am with you,
My heart is a frozen pond
Gleaming with agitated torches

I'll be honest, this poem took me less than 10 minutes to write...it just completely flowed out of my earlier. Sometimes it doesn't hurt as much when you can get it out, ya know?

yes, of course I understand, that's what I mean, poems of a cathartic nature usually seem very pure and sincere, and there is a heaviness to them, like each word is sharp, stabbing thru the page

-------
Dying
Is an art, like everything else.
I do it exceptionally well.

I drank too much last night, got bills to pay
My head just feels in pain
I missed the bus and there'll be hell today
I'm late for work again and even if I'm there
They'll all imply that I might not last the day
And then you call me and it's not so bad
It's not so bad and

~cheer up Bonochick, all endings lead to new beginnings~

Oh, Bonochick! I'm sorry you are feeling sad. Your poem is heart-wrenchingly beautiful.

hey BC, I'm sorry for my response last night, sometimes it's just hard to tell over the internet because we know nothing about each other really. I guess that's my way of giving you a hug
smile.gif

I hope you're feeling better and I hope maybe writing that poem helped to let it out a bit.

thanks for sharing it with us

Listen to your words they'll tell you what to do
Listen over the rhythm that's confusing you
Listen to the reed in the saxophone
Listen over the hum of the radio
Listen over sounds of blades in rotation
Listen through the traffic and circulation
Listen as hope and peace try to rhyme
Listen over marching bands playing out their time
