I DON'T WANT A REVOLUTION
-----------------------------------------------------

I don't want a revolution,
A resolution born in blood,
I don't see the justice here,
When innocents are brought to court,
Before a jury of crippled souls,
Who heed the bossmans call,
Corrupt and all too willing,
to take the money, the fall,

I don't want a revolution,
No trumpet or cannon roar,
With metal tracks tread into sand,
What for? What for? What for?
For the love of mud, liquor and gold,
These old demons raise their heads,
I try to tame the serpents,
But my hands are bound by threads,
Sewn by the master,
Who knows I will not ly,
For I'm tempted by the fruit,
That bear the wisdom of centuries,
But I don't march to his flute,

But I still deny the revolution,
A pacifist I shall remain,
The coward uses the rifle,
The brave take their pain,
And don't deal it back,
They keep their cards close,
To their hearts and out of view,
From those who would scorn our cause,
Who we will overthrow,
Through words and verse,
Subversive yet true,
One day we will see,
The final act of mankind,
That will fulfill our destiny,

This version is crappier than the one present in my thread labelled Zerodude's thread ah well it shows the creative process albleit I'm a poor example:|

the first 2 lines are great!

"One day we will see,
The final act of mankind,
That will fulfill our destiny,"

Depending on how you read it, that either says we are all going to live in paradise one day, or we are all going to hell!
