I wrote this after I heard some rumors of the draft being reinstated there arnt any ryhmes in here but it gets the point accross

Billy watchin tv one day
Not knowing his life is never going to be the same
On the news he learned they were reinstating the draft
They is the the government
Brainwashed by what we have to call our president
Before Billy was done feeling sorry for himself he got the call

It said boy your goin to war like it or not
Canada won’t help you now
Billy wanted to fail the physical but the doc was smarter an that

Billy no shot
Violence isn his game
He don’t have what the army wants
Bush dosn care so what it matter
He has to go an poor Billy cant fight back

Iraq
Word alone these days means no fun
Death around the corner
thinking why is he here
What caused this horrible war
Why are we still here
We got our man

Billy no shot
Violence isn his game
He don’t have what the army wants
Bush dosn care so what it matter
He there an poor Billy cant fight back

Im an easy target
Iraq figured it out
I didn’t last a minute on the battle field

(Solo)

Billy no shot
Violence isn his game
He don’t have what the army wants
Bush don’t care so what it matter
Billy dead an that’s that

Straightforward and powerful, good work, it cuts all of the artistic pretentions I take comfort in and tells it like it is, thank you

Very good writing and an interesting subject.

"Violence isn't his game"

and war is nothing more than a game........

Wow, it's hard for me to believe I wrote that. Anyways, the purpose of bumping this thread is because after a three year hiatus, I've finally written my second song:yes:

This one isn't a protest song, and it's not nearly as blatant/poorly written (I'd like to think)

(Untitled)

Well I was watchin'
The little one's above
And the nets below
And I was trying to capture what once was

And I remembered
A long time ago
Running through the squares
Of blacktop stained yellow

Chorus:
But I'm trapped, Yeah I'm trapped
And there is no key to bring me back

So I find myself awake
But I don't want to get up (I'm going to edit that line, but for now, I don't have anything better)
Because I feel like the spotlight's in my face
And I can't secure the net anymore

(chorus)

So while the little one's play above
It's time for me to move on

So while I'm trapped, Yeah I'm trapped
I know it's not time to go back.

If anyone has any suggestion's to fix the line that I said needs editing, feel free to post it.
