i imagined you last night.

the way you would stare at me.
the way you would feel when you touch me.
the way you would get impassioned over triviality.
and how much i appreciated every last imperfection.

i felt for you, but you weren't there.
i knew i was crazy. i was to forget about you.
i barely knew you, but felt like i had known you forever.
alone i slept all the same.

yet i hoped, in some way, that you longed for me all the same.
