on warm summer nights like this,
we would watch the snow melt away into the green land.
"we'll get out of here one day," you'd say,
"we'll find a way to open our eyes and accept the single spoonful of sugar.
we'll watch them cut down the clouds hung by strings high above our heads.
we'll be the honest and return the stolen souls that were sold on red brick walls.
one day we'll find a way to destroy the factories that build our plastic wombs and babies of clay.
we'll sweep away the footprints that litter the white beaches of metropolis.
we'll burn away the books that corrupt our minds and lead us to temptation.
with four absent letters, strung around our wrists, and a cross of wood that pricks our skin...
we'll ask ourselves if it's worth the risk to combine bread and wine with our greedy mouths.
one day we'll break down the doors that belong to us, and drown the names of our loved ones.
we'll find hope deep within the ruins of a heartbreak and we'll shatter the palette of human color.
without needles, we'll penetrate the human flesh, and discover that we all pour out the same unique shade of red.
maybe then we'll realize who our neighbors are and we'll be able to tie our hands together to praise.
but love, you seem a bit softspoken today, is there something you'd like to say?
I know there's something on your mind... there always is..."
"remember when we tried to fight the fire with our fire..
we just burned the city down and let the smoke graffiti the night.
it raged out of control... scorching water and wind.
we barely survived.
this time..... I doubt we'd make it out alive.."
"that's why we fight the doubt with hope my dear."
"what if this hope fades?"
"hope will not perish. we would need to find a cure for that dying hope."
"and what cure would this be?"
"faith."
"faith? what is this.. faith? ... will it be enough?"
"you will learn that it will always be enough, love, always."
