Hi all. I wrote this a few nights ago in a hotel room. I just got back from another business trip. I travel frequently with my job and I enjoy so many aspects of it, but it can get lonely at times. I've finally found a balance and its all because of an amazing woman.

Home

Living out of a suitcase
Restaurant meals routine
My life written in a day planner
The hectic hustle and bustle
Pounding through my veins
And I'm loving it
The unreal schedules
The meetings
Even the cocktail shmoozings.

But then night falls and I'm alone
And the room service menus
All look the same
Even the skylines start to look the same
I turn on anything on the hotel tv
Nothing worthwhile
It just breaks the silence
The monotony of paperwork I must face.

But I know that wherever I travel
No matter where I am
I have a home
A warm loving home to return to
At trip's weary end.
Not a sterile hotel room but a home
With children's voices and pets who think they own us
And inviting kitchen smells
And the love of an incredible woman
Who understands my wanderlust
As well as my yearnings for home
And does not make me choose between them
But opens her arms unquestioningly
And loves freely and unconditionally
And makes me a better man.

i m a bit confused but its ok

LCK is my real life fiance, soon to be my wife. :)

And this poem was written about how I love my job even though it takes me on the road a lot, but I love coming home even more because of the love that's waiting for me there. I guess its an appreciation to a woman who allows me to have the best of both worlds.
