even NJ loves NY
so when you can't see beyond
the black ocean in your eyes
it's then that you would give in
in all your fear
your mouth would follow the rules
and echo the lies ages old
all the while sadness curls its crooked lips
and poises to kill your purity
ravaging the taste of love as it bleeds in its blindfold

you can't see beyond these words,
can't feel like there's light beyond these fortress walls
can't you see the tower you've locked yourself into?
you wouldn't know that the sky still blankets you
and the same sun still would warm your bones
if you'd unwrap the layers of pain you've fostered around yourself

sing it from on high
so loud and so strong that no one could deny
the sky is headstrong blue
a seagull blows in from the storm-swept shore
its shadow dancing along the washed-out sand strip
and you were like the shadow
following some fleeting bit of life in it's headlong journey
not ever realizing
that life is yours, yours to breathe, yours to keep
yours to turn around, yours to make beautiful because
life is beautiful
and now you know
you are the gull, chasing down the wind
and love is all yours
yours to cherish,
and yours to give.

Thank you BabyGrace... no really, thankyou... you have no idea how much I needed that... the first stanza was me this morning... all the shit fell on me at once and I had to leave work less than an hour after I got there cos I couldn't stop bloody bawling... I'll write Tuesday.

thanks again.

thanks MissManda. this is one of my favourite poems I've ever written just cause it's something I needed to hear and for the first time ever it came from me (yes I am egocentric, I know)

I see the Flyers are peaking at just the right time, as usual!!!

as much as I love Larry Robinson as a coach, and for the amazing job he did the last two seasons, the team simply wasn't responding to him any more, Kevin Constantine needs to restore discipline and motivation to the players (and hey, 2 games, 2 wins!!!)

very beautiful and haunting...

well Wanderer, every year is a new year and every year I give them a new chance.
because I love them, I really do

quite honestly though, switching coaches midseason won't do a thing for any team, rarely does (trust me and my Flyers hehe), especially if theyre as low as the Devils are right now at this point. Maybe it'll help for next year though
