I sit here and contemplating the existence of futility
Thinking of the blood in my veins
That does not flow with the river
Coming to me like a wave that craves the shore
I throw my body on the rocks
Hoping for change
Praying for a difference
Come to me with hot breath and cool words
Heat in the air and ice in my heart
The murky unknown no longer frightens me
It embraces me like an old friend that I have not seen
The reality of my devices has come to and end
Not a hard parting of my vision
The glimmer is gone from my sight
The gayety of my voice is no more
