from time to time

a pregnant woman
walks with her child
alone, to the school bus,
the kids know it.
God sends flowers
each spring.

from the delicate flesh of her daughter
God spills
and she remembers
how she was somebody's wife, and lover.

her son
puts his arms around her
and thanks her
as if love has any choice

and her soul is ripe with God
and love is still in her heart

the feeling hanging in the air
like a thick stench or heavy carcas

i dont like the world much right now
u hit my mood but i dont even think u were trying to

god sends flowers each spring

Gorgeous, deep poem Wanderer.

I agree with Manda about hitting my mood without perhaps trying.

that is heartbreaking.
i too felt what Manda and Olive felt, this really, really hit me, something about the tone struck a chord with a lot of things that are happening right now, whether you intended it or not.

thank you

between snipers, and suicide bombers, and fathers dying, there's a lot of sadness in this effort, it's really the only way I have to reflect upon, and express my own sadness at these things, and if my ending seems half-hearted/ melancholy that's probably because it is, the sense that things will never be the same, even though you can try and embrace what you still have, things can never be the same, that helplessness and hopelessness that something irreplacable has been ripped from you, and yet you go on.. and on...

thanks, Wanderer.

I was in the mall yesterday and passed by a woman shopping, who was pushing a baby carriage and casually speaking to the child, asking her to say different words for her.

It made me think of this poem.
