friendship as a paradox

there are times when I can only marvel
at the chances thrown at my feet
by an idle gesture or broken step
I laugh softly at the times I have strayed
and wrap comfort in the pain
you have taught me
you will never know what you've left in me...
unseen ghosts of another life
our paths circle the globe, crossing
and leaving haunts of what could have been
nevermind what wasn't
flesh and blood, laughter and hope
you are forever imprisoned in the wires
and cold blue backgrounds
but no separation can deny the warmth
you conceived in my imagination
I won't deny the change
and so I will fade out just as
I wandered in, another lonely soul
another weary traveler in search of peace
hold me for good-byes
and I never really knew you at all
and I can never really repay you for
sharing your heart with me.

I am leaving for a week at the beach now so I wish you all wonder-filled Easter

BabyGrace that is so unbelievably beautiful. Thx for sharing. Wow, I wish I could write like that... I am more of a Dr. Seuss kind of writer. lol
