Location
a sea of fossils
Still settling, you rest in
the motions of an unseen energy,
a ripple in the clouds, shadowing
the daydreams that you have
etched in blue.

Did you wade through sleep just before
the delicate instruments twisted
that dark momentum,
shifting the only track
to the ones you loved?

To awake and feel
the unforgiving lines
in their real faces; they had drawn
their path,
and it was etched in blue.

The loss of sound.. the loss of silence..
And as you enter those tall islands
of glorious complexity,
the power they sent from above
only powers the need within us
to immerse your soul in love.

I hope this doesn't sound trite, especially to those who were directly involved; I guess this poem is my way of trying to find some peace and purpose in all of this chaos. My heart goes out to all of those who have suffered because of these horrible attacks today.

No, it's not trite at all, what a beautiful poem...

I've been hoping you would post another poem but it's sad that this one was inspired by something so terrible. I think everyone who was writing or creating in some way yesterday had to be thinking about the crisis. It amazes me how far people can misuse their God-given free will, how anyone can hate that much.

The world is very ill.

It really does feel that way.. I can't begin to imagine what the families and friends of the dead must be feeling after such overwhelming and irrational violence.

I also just want to point out that the line "immerse your soul in love" was taken from the Radiohead song "Street Spirit (Fade Out)," which I find very comforting right now.

I noticed that. I just bought The Bends recently, it's the only Radiohead album I have but I love it. That might be my favourite song from it. But I'm not sure I could listen to it right now, it might be too much
