inspired partially by Wong Kar-Wai's 2046--the most beautiful and haunting film I've seen in a long time...

DIS-ORIENTED

ghost writer scrawls his tale up the walls
and out to the page of another:
thai goes to the rumour
runner to the river
bamboo boys in thicket fields
rickshaw riders alight and pull your own weight
cowardice sold in chicken brothels
white lies/yellow lines
muted trumpet
plum papillon
and a far-land garland
for your spiderwebbed window

soft rains, wizened leg
remembering rooftop swoons
struck matches under the moon
and a manicure all ills away

call for the room key and scent-sprayed letter
a marker in case you’d ever forget her
the cologne swirls up a lacquered banister
and smokes out the mischievous daysleepers

folded newspaper
tonic’ed teeth
eyes on the elevator half-clock
a watched plot never boils
on the simmered setting

this couchant pose
is the languor she loathes
but the bedside is mannered
and ironed to fold
two aces down
in the face of all queens
where the scenes on the screens
are not quite what they seems.

Very good, infact I need to see the film if it inspires such good literature:wink:

Excellent work Lazarus.....I have not seen the film but sounds interesting.

I like this part:

"and a far-land garland
for your spiderwebbed window"

is that the film with Zhang Ziyi in it, Laz?

I'm not familiar with that film

Yes, Zhang Ziyi is in it, along with a host of other phenomenal and beautiful Asian actresses, including Gong Li & Faye Wong. This is some of Z.Z.'s best work to date, she is absolutely heartbreaking.
