Chosen strife

The strife we choose to endure is always harder and more painful
than the strife we must endure
obvious
yes
my surprise at the fact we sometimes choose to suffer
even when presented with an alternative not immediately as painful
Yet we choose strife and pain
I grow tired and weary of this weight of strife
The goal once so clear
blurred and not seemingly as bright
Have I waited too long?
Have I waited not long enough?
Should I have waited at all?
These questions my mind asks my heart
but the heart at this moment grows angry at these questions
because it gives not answers
but pain
