Chasing Daylight

Chasing daylight
the sun runs away from me
under a clouded sky I could still see
daylight
dwindling
dimming
giving way to night
I drive on this empty road
headed west
if I just go fast enough I might
just catch it
the lonely road turns darker
as street lights
headlights
houselights
puncture the darkness

it obviously needs more...but I was just hashing out some thoughts
