War Child
"All I got was this Lousy Snapshot"
Jeanine asked me to smile for just one picture
Looking back now I wish I was with you
Naked moonlight swimming, raising Arizona
Coffee with Nicolas Cage and dessert with Francis Ford Coppola
But I left Phoenix without any stops
And all I got was this lousy snapshot
Threw my chances in a skinny boat
And paddled through the blue with a lump in my throat
Old man turns and smiles, says don't look over your shoulder
What's the use in the glory if the glory is over
But I left the coastline before the sun dropped
And all I got was this lousy snapshot
Someday
Someday
I will run out of film
Fortune tellers, they're full of shit
Tell you what you want to hear then make you count on it
Like some average novel turned Hollywood Story
Two car chases and a broken nose and it already bores me
So I left the dark room before the plot
And all I got was this lousy snapshot
Someday
Someday
I will run out of film
This one is for the nomad. The one who can't find his place in the world. The point of view is through the eyes of a filmmaker/photographer because they really have two sets of "eyes".
