Absent is love
From this passing day,
Where hearts of stone prosper
And dead bodies lay.

This bloody mess quickly
Glanced at and shun--
Many are soon forgotten
When evil has won.

But what of the families
Whom mourn for their past?
And hold back their anger
As the first stone is cast?

The toll darkness pays,
Is minimal in compare,
To the battered ambition
Of those lost in the scare.
