Why isn’t . . .
Why isn’t there room in a heart so large
for those needing love
the children so orphaned
just wanting a hug
a hand to guide them thru
their lonely times.
Why isn’t there a place on an
earth so vast
for those needing homes . . .
a shelter
a tent
a refuse from the storm
why can’t it be.
The world’s so advanced
yet it’s so far behind
in what it all matters . . .
the hearts and the minds.
Do we just forgive ourselves
and let it pass us all by . . .
or do we reach out and
see what needs to be seen
not blindfolded and bound to
our existence . . . so small . . .
Why can’t there be hope
Why are we not at peace.
Peace with ourselves can perhaps
bring peace to this world.
We hear it so often that what is
has to be
but is it really the truth that
the hungry shall perish because it has been.
Is there no road to change
one day remembered
the next day forgot.
Is it only for dreamers to vision a
balance to life’s scale.
Why isn’t there room in a heart so large
for those wanting to exist
not awaiting to die because the cure
can’t be touched,
Are we not touched by humanity or
is it just a word instead of
blood and flesh.
A realness of Mankind does exist
somewhere . . .
does it not?
