a little heavy for a heavy hour

Drinking depression of the day
Carefully scale up and down
this destruction that you create
lifelong agony I am crowned.

To look upon the cradled world
with its crazed and judgemental eye
and face the night that slowly creeps
to dream the soulful dreamer's lie.

I feel my death like never before
raging along my year long line
its temper gaining on my step
and beating down my loved one's shrine.

Watching funeral of the day
family blue on drying cheek
to curse every laughing one to hell
and watch within my fumbled speak.

And so to feel my lonely life
revolting, hurtling, toward the end
and to my death, I raise my hand,
to the demon twilight, I descend.

copyright me, not that its about me, or perhaps it is, who knows what we are thinking when we're in that complete state.

has anyone ever done a poets bed?

Bleak and Beautiful. I can see why I want to be a journo- I have never been able to illustrate feelings as vividly as that.

BTW Zooropamanda, did you get my email? Sorry I took the hard line on that issue, please don't take offense. Being South Australian has resulted in my being super-sensitive to such criticism (plus my BD single nightmare continued that afternoon, heightening my defensive attitude )Please accept my apology.

yes,
it must be a "poet-thing"? I think I've written a variation of those words many times myself, only not as good...

great poem...

I think you can open it- I didn't do a rougerum on you or anything (sorry rougerum).

BTW I think I'll be spending a bit more time around here than before- the temptation to download them songs is 'mighty full o power!'

Good call bicyclingfish...

"to dream the soulful dreamer's lie"...

"demon twilight"...

Where do these words come from? *shakes head in amazement*

Wow, zooropamanda. I haven't really ever been down to Dream Out Loud much so I went through and read lots of people's stuff and this one just sticks out. Wow.

I love the flow of the last four lines... like i said before, I need to spend more time down here in Dream Out Loud!
