The Australian Dollar - a lament

Oh, woe betide the Aussie Dollar!
It's never been so low -
Sliding down the foriegn exchange,
How far can it go?

Woe betide our True-Blue buck!
It's looking very glum -
Our currency is now so cheap
It's not fit to wipe your bum.

Oh, lament the diving dollar!
The out-look's getting black -
It's feeling blue, it's looking sick,
It's greener than the greenback.

Curse the Nasdaq and the Dow,
Hang the Hang Seng too -
Curse the FooTSiE, blast the Nikkei,
There's not much else to do.

It makes it hard to travel
With worthless currency -
A plague upon the cost of oil
And the price of Chinese tea!

I hope the price of certain tickets
Won't be blown sky-high -
Although I'll save for months and months,
If I miss out, I'll ... be really pissed off.

The dollar's stuffed, there is no doubt;
It's in a dreadful state.
The economy's gone up the spout...
That's it - we're buggered, mate!

The Canadian dollar is extremely low too right now, so you're not alone. However, the good thing about this is that today I cashed a US$ cheque for some writing work I did and got an extremely good exchange rate

I just cashed a very large US$ check on Friday too and for once it worked in our favor!!! I was so glad when I heard that U2 tickets were selling for the same $ amount in Canada as the States.

Check out Canadian Money, 1 candian dollar= about .50 American!!!! its getting worse too.

Good point Dreamer... I feel bad for us but worse for you!
It's weird, it wasn't that long ago that Aust. and NZ currencies were pretty much identical, what happened? And I thought there was a similar arrangement with US/Canadian dollars... was that so or am I imagining things?
And it's only getting worse too...
