I read a novel (We have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson) first 'for fun' novel I've read in years.
I went to sleep earlier.
I got my students papers and tests back on time.
I actually prepared for lectures rather than 'winging' it.
I didn't once have my husband roll his eyes like he usually does when he sees the familiar blue screen.
I didn't once hear my six year old say, "Not that U2 computer thing again, Mom?"
But the majority of my time away from here probably went to the new baby that was in our house. No, not like that. A relative and her 8 month old needed a place to stay for a while, so they moved in with us. It turned out that the Mom had some medical issues, so I spent alot of time with the baby.
I'm glad I proved to myself that I could do it, but it's nice to be back with 'most' of you!
