it'd be more weird having it on the left! when it's on the right you're always in the middle of the road. but if it's on the left you're miles away from the centre of the road

Well, of course the one doesn't go without the other, i.e. road sides were swapped as well.

As the popular joke goes: England is changing their traffic to right lane traffic in two steps: Trucks and busses first.

Just woke up and i dont have my jacket with me  and i dont know where my mate has gone.

:lol::doh:

i have always wondered though what it'd be like importing a car to a country where everything's reversed. if i ever move to the uk i can find out then :hmm:

I've seen a few English cars with German license plates. Must be a tremendously great deal to do so.
Another opportunity for Europeans would be to go to England by car. And vice versa.

Apparently it's not that bad. Each year you see shitloads of British people in British cars in France and Spain on holidays. Haven't seen any crashes yet so it doesn't seem that hard to adapt.

men, don't read this...

my period is a week late and counting. it's impossible that i'm pregnant. i haven't been stressed out - i've been relaxing all summer. i haven't drastically changed my schedule at all (though i will in a week ... i'm not too nervous about it though; i'm rather looking forward to school). i have gained some weight, but most of that was at the beginning of the summer months ago. i stopped taking my meds - a couple months ago. i've had one since i stopped, so i don't see why that would be it, and when i started taking the meds it didn't throw anything off anyway. should i be worried? wtf is going on?

i am extremely and utterly depressed this morning.

england just won the ashes.

a sad, sad day for australia.

I left my mate's house when we were 2/210 or so... next thing I know, I arrive home and I get a message telling me that Ponting'd run himself out. Then it was all over.

I mean, how do you run yourself out when you have TWO DAYS to bat?

yeah, i'm sure it's pretty pricy. when some of my family members were moving to hawaii ~10 years ago (i know, they have a hard life!) my granny was bitching about how much it'd cost for her to have her car shipped. i can only imagine how much it'd cost once you factor it's international and such. i'm sure there's some kind of tax you'd have to pay

ooh, that's good. in practice it might be different, but i think i'd prefer to have the steering wheel on the left, regardless of on what side of the road i'm driving. :hmm:

There's a thing called "re-import" where a good such as a car is exported, and then from there exported back, or re-imported. This way you safe the VAT. But usually it only pays when transportation and such is not too expensive. For example, I grew up close to the Danish border where some sellers were specialised in re-imports. Can't imagine that's lucrative when you do it with England.

It's not all that likely that you would be pregnant, but a simple test from a chemist will answer it once and for all! Your weight gain is more likely due to other factors than a baby, even if you were pregnant, as weight gain from pregnancy won't really happen until 12 weeks or more onward. If you've been on and off some meds recently, or the pill, your body is most likely just adjusting to the changes. I'd just write this off as your body doing something.

And with me and the husband, we always disagree on when to do a home test. He wants to wait until I'm 6 months late, I want to do one straight away. The last time, I was late, and coincidentally my blood sugars were really inexplicably high and we were discussing it on the phone and he finally said, "Just do a damn test and ring me when you get home!" I said no, I'd wait and the bsl issue was not related, etc, and it went back and forth. Finally, I agreed but said there was no way I wanted to tell him this over the phone and I'd wait til he got home. He got stubborn again (this was all in good humour, btw), and insisted I go out right away to the chemist and report back with the results. Anyway, off I trotted and had an excellent morning at the local shops. I text messaged him with, "great news! we won $13.40 on ozlotto, I got pulled over for an rbt... and moses says hi!!" We'd started calling this baby moses before it was even in existence as he is the 4th (as in came forth... we're sad, really). OK, so the story may not be that interesting, but we laugh.

I always get asked if I'm anorexic by drunks. Somewhat annoying

Today my car was getting pushed around like a bitch with this wind... 100ks an hour.

:reject: haven't yet i'm afraid, haven't been down to the video store. you'll hear about it!

Well, then, here is my confession:

If you do not take one night off from clubbing in the next 14 days to watch this film, I am going to instigate a series of events that will culminate with your favorite inanimate object being absconded with. Also, you will be taunted by scary looking strangers.

i'm glad you still reserve your death threats for me and nobody else.

Oh, YLB was put on a death clock by me a while back if he did not watch a few select films. PFan was also threatened by death. This one I don't know quite well enough to threaten to kill, so I used other means.

if i don't see it, it doesn't happen.

i take it i'm free of death threats since i finally saw arrested development?

well i only "club" max four nights out of 14, so i'll track it down. but only because you're new south wales.

My mistake. So, you have no excuses, then. And, I am nothing if not new south wales, yes.

For now, sure.
