The weirdest thing happened to me today. My friend and boyfriend and I were at Tuft's University having an improntu picnic on the lawns. We noticed a man sitting a little ways away, but didn't think anything of it. About 30 minutes after eating and relaxing, my boyfriend went to walk around. Five minutes later I said I was going to take pictures, about 100 feet away. I noticed the man wasn't there anymore. Okay so I'm snapping away, see my boyfriend and then turn around and notice the man speaking with my friend.

So I hurry over and he starts to walk away. My friend said the guy stood over her (she was lying down) and then said something like (he had a thick African accent) "My name is Ronald. Can I have a brief conversation with you?" My friend knew enough to not respond and give him a look to get the heck away. So I come over and sit next to her, and I watch this guy stop my boyfriend.

The man asks him if the "two girls" were his, and then said something about having a conversation with us. Monty was a little perplexed and didn't know what this guy was about, and then the guy told him he'd give him $5000 for us, and refered to something sexual (again, his accent was confusing).

Monty brushed him off and once the guy saw that he was outnumbered and the answer was um, NO:|, he walked away quickly and was gone a few seconds after we figured out exactly what happened.

Seriously. wtf.

:uhoh: :crack: :eyebrow:

Sheesh. Did you let security at the campus know?
You can never be too careful with shit like that.
Hope you're all not too freaked, Olive.

weird huh?!! I wasn't too freaked out cuz it was daytime and I totally guessed that that's what he wanted- just very strange. I've had interactions w/ other men from that culture and they've all been seriously f'ed up concerning how to treat women.

We didn't let the security know cuz he totally disappeared down the street. :reject:

but i'm really glad i wasn't alone, and even that it wasn't just the 2 girls. if he had a friend w/ him... :|

Uh yeah, that guy was me. I was looking for a sex slave and thought I found the perfect duo to fulfill my needs.:sexywink: By the way, I'll up the price to $10,000 if you promise to do my laundry and water my plants.

Thanks. :eeklaugh:

That is so creepy..disrespectful to put it mildly. Hopefully some day someone will set him straight as to how inappropriate that is. I have total respect for other cultures, but not for behavior like that.

I agree-you should have reported it. That is a private college, and you'd think they'd want to have some control over what goes on there. I'm just glad your boyfriend was there w/ you.

I know, it's so absurd it's sort of funny, but all I can do is :yikes:  I've never heard of something like this actually happening lol.

maybe i'll call campus security today, in case he hangs out there often.

:uhoh:

So, um, anyway....once Jenn and I were really early for a concert (in DC) so we were walking around and this girl walked up to us and asked if we were trying to join an escort service.

You should let security know. Having worked in this area in the Boston area, they pass on this type of information between local police and campus security. Your contribution may help a bit towards nailing him.

Peace
