I have no idea what the frick "An Cat Dubh" is or means, or even how one would pronounce it. In fact, I get kind of mad whenever I see it in print.

I have heard it means "The Black Cat" it's Gaelic.

I believe it's pronounced phoenetically.

i can't identify though...my family speaks some gaelic, so i've always known its pronunciation and meaning.

I think Dubh is pronounced sort of like Dove. That's the "black" part. Dublin comes from Dubh Linn (black pool).
