I never thought I'd have to bump this thread up, but guess what:

They found my car yesterday!!!
In Livermore (CA), a town 45 minutes from where I live.

There's a huge crack in the front windshield and a few of the things that were lying in the car are missing, but other than that, it's exactly as I left it!

Hahaha!
I can't believe it!
Almost 7 weeks later and my car is back!
Good thing, I didn't buy another one just yet.

Congratulations!

Thanks everyone!

It's driving and running well.
Needs a windshield replacement though.
And then I'll head to the nearest car wash to have it all cleaned (inside and out).

It was abandoned in a hotel parking lot.
I don't think they found out who stole it.
I doubt they looked or checked for fingerprints or DNA.
Even though I'm sure they could have found plenty of it around.
'Cause there were a lot of junk food left overs in the car. (cups, bottles, empty boxes, etc).
I found a receipt that whoever drove in it, ate at the Taco Bell on March 2nd.
So I know that there was some driving done in it for some time (at least a week)

Read about your car troubles, Phil.
I'm sorry!

:applaud: That's great news, Miri! Guess it was stolen by "locals" who didn't get very far eh? Maybe just a bit of joy riding and consuming of horrible choices in drink and diet!

I hope that with a little work, windshield replacement and a good detail job you'll have your car back and be happy about it. Good thing you hadn't bought another car just yet! (altho I wonder what would have happened then?!)

Good news though!

I just don't seem to be having much look with my car this year.
Had quite a scare tonight.
Since it's summer vacation, I don't have to use my car as often.
Last time I used it was on Monday.
I had parked it in a parking lot (near the shops) next to my apartment complex.
Only to discover this evening, that it wasn't standing there anymore.
I'm like: WHAT!!!
At first I thought maybe I didn't remember correctly.
Perhaps I did park somewhere else.
Almost immediately followed by: did I not lock the doors properly?
Then : No way, my car got stolen for a second time.
This can't be happening.

Oh, there's a sign on the fence that says unauthorized vehicles will be towed.
:hmm:
Perhaps give the towing company a call first, before I contact the police.
And turns out: yes, my car got towed.
Damnit!!
I've been parking there for the last year and a half.
Without problems.
Guess they had nothing better to do on the 4th of July!
So I'm $250 poorer.
Oh, all the nice things I could have done with that money.
Still, better towed than stolen.
