i'm becoming ashamed of being a u2 fan

why? - the whining, bitching, the fans in boston, the greed, persons on this forum etc - so much for a smart fanbase.

all the persons involved in the creation of the "fan websites" - such as this and others like atu2 and youtwo.net are a bunch of egomaniacal pratts not worth talking about

there are exceptions but those are becoming fewer and fewer - i have made plenty of great friends here but otherwise i couldn't care less for "the community"

I must agree with the great man. I find so many u2 fans annoy the hell out of me...eg "boo hoo I saw 16 shows and at the 16th I didn't get into the heart waaahhh". Get over it. And as for all you obnoxious plonkers who can't take a joke...oh man don't get me started!
Though I was always ashamed of being a U2 fan...sigh...whenever I'm in a U2 chat room I have to have a porn site running in the background so that if someone comes in I can switch to it real fast and say " I WASN'T on a U2 site!! I SWEAR!!"
