I know they exist, because I've run into them before. I really hope the people at Interference aren't in the "rude U2 fan" category.

If you wear a U2 tshirt, don't be a bastard when people compliment you on your shirt. Don't give them looks like they are speaking in tongues.

Wait...I got interrupted...there's more.
If you are a big enough fan to pay the $$$ for a shirt and wear it in public, and someone compliments you on it, at least take the compliment with a smile.

I'm sorry if I approached you, you rude U2 fan, while you were gawking at the lights in Las Vegas, I'm sorry if I bothered you, you nasty U2 fan who I saw at Costco. I was just hoping to strike up a conversation with someone who I thought would be a cool fan.
Kiss off!

I despise all rude people.

That's not much of a confession though, I guess...most people do despise all rude people.

Rude and stupid people BLOW! BTW, I was complimented on one of my U2 shirts while walking to class last fall, and I was very delighted and gave the kind girl a big smile.

Gosh gee-whiz Ms. Clayton, sorry to hear about your unenchanted encounter with that moron. I hope you feel better to have vented a little bit about that. I know what you mean too, I assumed that every U2 fan was ultra-cool and that U2 fans all had that special bond. Apparently there are a few "pretenders" who just don't get it.

I dont think I've ever seen worse behaviour by a U2 "fan" than at the London show on the 21st of Auguest last yr. Right at the end of Walk On this chick appears out of nowhere with her elbows out, camera in hand and just pushes her way through us with her elbows, jabbing and sticking them in our faces, to get a picture of Bono. The girl standing next to me and I were in absolute shock at her rudeness.

Well Miss London girlie with the rude bony elbows, all u had to do was ask us to take your photo and we would have, but if I ever see u again, I'm gonna stand in front of you purposely!!!!!!!!

well, nah I wouldn't really, cause Im polite, dammit!
That was just the rudest and most unfanlike thing I've ever come across. She ruined the end of the whole show.
*shakes head*

I have a rude U2 fan story from London 21 too Manda, wonder if its the same girl...

Well, when we were finding our spots in the heart, this 'fan' (actually from an American all girl tribute band) barged her way to the front and started stomping on a lady sitting on the ground infront of her. Apparently, stomping on someone's arm and leg is a grand way to get to the front.

Fortunately a few of us saw it, totally abused her and she had to move a fair way away from us!

I was in the Heart w/you at Vegas April and all the other sexy people.

Las Vegas is where I had the most encounters with rude U2 fans...(I know none were you

)
Although to be fair, I did talk briefly with a U2 fan who was nice. He saw my U2 tshirt and began to sing Elevation in the middle of a casino. Golly, I hope I wasn't rude to him.....

I know exactly what you mean, Mrs. Clayton! I've run into a lot of rude fans but here are some of the worst I've seen...

At the first Chicago concert on leg 3, I had seats and was going to be in the heart for the first time the second day. Anyway, during What's Going On, Bono says something about AIDS awareness and Africa and things like that, and this stupid old fat man behind me, 1 or 2 rows away, shouts, "Oh, just shut up!". And then these stupid brothers (they looked a lot alike, so I'm assuming they were brothers) standing next to me start screaming,"Motherf--ker! Motherf--ker!" for 5 minutes or more during One. I was so mad, so I shoved them a lot (lol, I sound pathetic) and they finally left before the concert was over (at the end of One or so) and they had better seats, so we went and stood where they were before.
tongue.gif
Ha ha ha.

And to continue THAT, those two stupid brothers came in at Chicago #2 3rd leg and tried to cut in the GA line! They were so mad when we shoved them out and yelled at them for cutting in line. Oh, and it made me so sad when I read that Spin article where Bono said,"In Chicago they booed us during What's Going On, and I think that's good to know our audience isn't full of lemmings." and of course, that entire time those dumb guys were near me, I was thinking,"Oh, at least we can only hear them, Bono can't.."

Hmm.. oh, at the Denver 3rd leg concert, I was in the heart again and these stupid women (2 of them) were dancing and they were SO annoying -- they kept backing into us and yelling at us for standing where they were -- and we were up against the rail, never moving at ALL, so how could have that happened?
rolleyes.gif
It took us the entire 30 minutes or whatever after No Doubt left to get us to convince them we weren't moving and they were backing up into US.

Ahh.. just reread my post.. sorry I went on a bit there.

well, I guess people here have run into even nastier people than I have. There were these 3 girls sitting in the same row as my friend and I at the Vegas show(nosebleed, far away from the stage). One of them was always leaving to get another beer, another was leaving to go to the bathroom. I wanted to say something like"How does the concert sound from the toilet?" but I chickened out. One of them spilled their beer, and it ran all over the place, including my program and tshirt
mad.gif

Whatever, that was months ago, I should forget about it.

Aww, that sounds terrible.

What did you say?
And yeah, I always seem to get stuck with the dumb idiots who think they have to drink 8 gallons of beer at every concert and spill it everywhere too.

There was this drunk idiot in front of me outside of the heart in Vegas who pushed his way up in there - the kind U2 fans around me were ready to drop him! He sttod there with his cell phone in his hand, and straight up in the air. Come on - like anyone wants to listen to a whole show through a cell phone. Finally he left (shoved out by us).

I think I scared a few folks in Vegas by commenting on their shirts - I was just so excited to see all those fans, in town for the same reason.

In Minneapolis on May 1, I was at the tip of the heart - Bono jumped off the stage and ran straight to the back of the arena. We all thought he would come back - but instead, these two obnoxious bitches pushed there way through the crowd with a security guard. They did NOT get by me - not going to happen. They started getting pissy, loved that.

In June at Madison Square Garden, I got stuck behind two fat drunk guys who were more concerned with hugging and high-fiving eachother when they heard a song they liked, rather than actually listening to the song! It was so distracting.

Like, NYD would start and they'd be all 'WOOOOOOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOO YAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHH WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOO' high-fiving and missing eachother's hands (b/c they were drunk). ugh.

Luckily when "BAD" started they just stood there sorta hypnotized and didn't say a word. Thank God because I had never seen "bad" live and I was waiting to see it.

I absolutely love the song.

Well, they didn't play BAD on the ZooTV or Pop tours. So, I didn't get to see them do it then.

Believe me, it was definetly a treat for me!

Oh, and now that I know your age, I realize that the first time I ever saw them in concert, you were 3 years old!!!!!

No, overall being in the heart(again)was great! There were a lot of complaints though about the rudeness from some of the people in it that night, but I tried not to let it ruin my night. (Tried)
