reflecting on your high school years..

does anyone have any 'rebellious' experiences you'd like to share (ex. vandalizing, rioting, school fights, ditching class, suspension, etc.)? I was just thinking about this because Senior Ditch Day is slowly approaching this week at my school. usually the seniors AND juniors ditch for some reason :eyebrow:.

anyone out there involved with senior pranks? my school was so strict on senior pranks last year, that those involved were arrested and weren't allowed to graduate.

so, any high school badasses out there that'd like to share their rebellious times?

Our senior class did several pranks. First, before school even started that year, someone made the hill in front of school say "Seniors 2002" by bleaching the grass or something. Towards the end of the year, my friend and I were going to organize the purchases of several pre-greased piglets to be released in school, but some other guy found out and went ahead and bought a pig at a farm auction. He let it go, but it was a huge adult pig so it just sat down in the doorway and stayed there all day. Next, much of the senior class spent a night TPing the front lawn of every teacher and administrator of our school. I think they did the wrong house for three people! Finally, someone pranked the PTA. Our PTA is a bunch of rich women with too much plastic surgery who are all depressed because they've never worked a day and have no purpose in life. Anyway, before exams or holidays, they print out dorky poems and tape them with candy to the seniors' lockers. Someone made a similar poem about graduation night, but instead of candy, we all got condoms.

Hmm.. I wasnt nasty at school, just mischevious.. but.. some stories. Besides the smoking and underage drinking:

Broke into school with some friends during the summer holidays and wrote all sorts of nasty things on all the black boards in all the class rooms.

We used to sit in a classroom which was on the 2nd floor (primary school, so would have been maybe 1981 or 82) and the bike shed used to be directly below. Myself and 3 friends used to always drop water bombs on the kids below. Unfortunately as we were quite small, we had to stand on the pipe under the radiator to reach out the window. One day the whole radiator and pipe broke off the wall and flooded our classroom and two others. Got suspended for that.

Myself and a friend used to have a competition to see who could get the most notes home from teachers each year. We used to get into trouble just for the sake of getting a note. He always beat me. The most notes home i got was 178 in one year.

We had this teacher who was obviously new to the profession. We used to run amok in her classroom and have chair fights with other folk in the class. We used to leave the classroom to get her a cup of tea to calm her down. Eventually she resigned and quit her job and I believe had a nervous breakdown. I do regret that episode.

My maths teacher used to hate anyone yawning in his class. He had a terrible temper. Unfortunately, one of my biggest faults was my lack of concentration. I used to get bored after 15 mins of every class. I used to yawn on purpose just to antagonise him. One day, he threw me out of the class for yawning. He then came out and started bawling at me and poking me in the chest. I told him if he poked me one more time I would hit him back. He never threw me out of the class again.

Had a school trip to the south west of Ireland for a week - it was an Irish language based trip and we were all staying in small chalets. Unfortunately we accidently burned one down. That same trip, a few of us let off a load of fire extinguishers (before the fire broke out) which resulted in a fine dust covering pretty much everything and everyone. Got for suspended for that also.

Happy memories :)

 I'll mention two. There were a lot more, but I don't feel like sharing those just yet.

I got suspended once, but it was totally worth it. We were outside, and this guy was teasing me about something so I picked up a pile of rocks, and threw them as hard as I could at him. They hit him in the face, and hurt him pretty badly. A teacher saw me throw the rocks at him, so I ended up getting suspended. I was so glad that I hurt the kid, even though it got me kicked out of school for a few days.

There was a walk-out and protest at my school about some clearcutting that was going on in a forest nearby. We didn't get suspended, but got in a lot of trouble with the teachers. The media was aware of the protest, and took pictures of us as we walked out of the school and to the highway to chant and protest. Guess who was in the picture on the front page of our local paper? :lmao:

There were a couple of grad pranks at my school, but I wasn't involved in any of them.

I think you win!

There was quite a bit that went on my senior year. However my favorite memory is of what my class did on graduation night. For a few weeks some of us had been planning to make the ceremony a bit more special. So we acquired a bunch of silly string,a beach ball and some small water guns. Whole plan was that as soon as they announced the class of 97 that we would let go with all of this stuff. Began a bit earlier though about halfway through the calling of the graduates for their diplomas. Before I knew it silly string was flying and a beach ball was being thrown around. Water guns turned out not to be a good idea as it was a bit cool that night and the water didn't feel good, lol. Not sure what was funnier the whole scene playing out before us or how pissed off the teachers were  Could tell they were trying to be composed in front of everyone but they were livid! Unfortunately our finest moment was edited out of the graduation tape.

Oh and needless to say that this never happened again as they got pretty strict with future graduating classes. My sister graduated a couple of years later and they confiscated some silly string before they came on the field. Threatened those too who who were sneaky enough to get by them with it all.

Once in 10th grade my friends and I threw wrestling mats into a canal in back of the high school and joyrided on the security guard's golf cart for awhile

For Senior Skip Day though, I just went to the beach with my friends and got blasted on Icehouse beer. I was so drunk that when my crush sat on my towel and talked to me, I had to vomit.. so I dug a little hole (all while he was talking to me), threw up, covered it up like I was a cat in a litterbox and went on talking to him. Ha! I loved high school!!

wow, everyone has such crazy stories to tell. :yikes:
some of them are actually kind of shocking. nowadays the consequences for some of that stuff is just insane (in high school I mean).

the worst I've done in high school (so far at least  ) is ditch class and do underage stuff. pretty lame compared to everyone else :reject:

About the worse thing I did was load up the rotating barrel of the swamp cooler with spit wads so when I asked the teacher turned it on he was pelted in the face with them. Since I was the daughter of a faculty member I was not a suspect.

My dad is a prison warden, so I was a good kid in high school.

I've gotten into much more trouble since I've lived on my own :mac:

:lmao: love your description of like a cat in a litterbox

I... never did much of anything.
Marching band beat it out of me.

I skipped a lot of class but my mom would call me in and tell them I had a doctor's appointment, as long as I still got good grades. I don't think it's really very rebellious if your mom is in on it.

Not much. Although, my high school, like most high schools, used a proxy to connect to the internet, for the purpose of filtering out certain sites. We weren't even allowed to view sites with four-letter words. The proxy - it was called the Bess proxy - blocked them. That thing blocked way too much. Like we didn't speak and read and hear four letter words all the time. It was just so ridiculous. Anyway, me and a lot of the other guys in the IT vocational three-period-a-day class I took in my junior and senior years, would always find ways to get around the proxy and view whatever site we wanted. But the workarounds were usually websites themselves, and if you used any given one too much, Bess would block that too. So then we'd find another one

OK ummm....:shifty: you didn't hear this from me, and you don't know my name.....:shifty: but I was really rebellious in high school. My frosh year I was a goodie goodie. My soph year I was into girls sports and school paper, yearbook and several clubs....by Jr year I was burnt out and always burnt. I got caught up with the stoner crowd and cut school every chance I got. I did NOT want to be there. I made up stories, ANYTHING I could do to ditch class. A couple of friends and I would even dress for PE then ditch back into the locker room, change back into our clothes after roll call and sneak across the street to sit at a coffee shop drinking coffee all morning. One day I got called out of a class I happened to be in to the dean's office and there were my parents. *SURPRISE* I got caught forging my dad's signature on notes. I got the crap kicked out of me and put on major restriction which only made me rebel more. I began sneaking out of the house. Ooooh I was bad. I barely snuck by to graduate the following year.

As for senior pranks, my year we set(I don't remember exactly how many) alarm clocks in lockers, all set to go off at the same time. The year prior to mine they put jello in the pool. Red jello, the school color. NOT pretty.... I also remember a certain really hated and despised teacher's desk being placed on top of a Bldg.

that reminds me of what the seniors during my freshmen year did. some of them were involved in the school office and such (helping the secretaries, teachers, and deans out), and eventually got a hold of the passing period bells..

basically that whole week, we had random bells going on and off. sometimes even going on for more than 5 min. :crack:

that following weekend I heard bells in my head everywhere I went :|

We still use BESS at my college. Everytime I walk past it in the server room, I get this urge to kick it in.

:lmao:

You should. There's not much you can get a student body of three thousand 15-18 year-olds to agree on, but you can get them to all agree on this: Bess sucks and should die a slow and painful death.

It's the parents, you know. The only reason schools are so insistant on using the damn thing is so that ignorant, stupid parents can't point the finger at the school when their messed up kid builds a bomb using directions he found on the internet while at school, or picks up the habit of saying 'fuck' too much because of what he read on the internet while at school. It's the parents. That's why Bess is used.

For us, it's the dondors. As a VERY expensive, rather affluent private collage, pretty much all of our "rules" come from donor stipulations. BESS is for sure, also "open house hours" (when girls can go to guys' dorms and vice versa). I learned this when I contacted the Dean of Studen Life after finding, totally by accident, loads of porn stored on a Profs computer. Now I don't care if profs save porn vids on their college-owned computers, that's their business, but I care that at a "Christian" organization that so values "stewardship" and "discernment", we think it's OK to hold professors to a higher standard than our students when clearly they are just as at fault (only the wired ResNet proxies through BESS, all staff, faculty, and computer labs are not). He said he didn't think it was fair either, but when someone says "hey I'll put two million dollars into your technology fund if you agree to use this proxy filter", you do it.
