I confess, the bottom edge of my right eye has been twitching since August 6. It's getting very annoying and I'm puzzled b/c I've never had the edge of either of my eyes twitch before, especially not for over a month.... :crack:

No worries; same thing happened to me last month, lasted nearly 2 weeks...BAW said it was eye strain 'cause I was on the computer all day and night with work (reports and such = blue crack) nonetheless.....it went away...matter of fact, I forgot about it until I read your post.... all is well...

or it could be from fatigue and stress. the whole time i was working on our grant, my right eye would twitch. try getting off the computer and getting some rest. that should do the trick.

Heh, less computer, that's a good one! I work 32 hrs a week as a computer technician/lab assistant/grading computer projects which doesn't include my own free time and school work time spent in front of the computer. I was kinda wondering if it was computer related. Do you think a flat panel LCD display would help like it does for some people's migraines? B/c if it does, I can ask my boss about getting one. It's just bothersome b/c I don't feel like I'm under more stress than I have been, I get the same amount of sleep, and yet the eye continues to twitch. It's rather headache inducing to have your vision blurred every few minutes.

I generally "catch that" once a semester from all my reading and writing.

In fact, my eye was spazzing like crazy last week but finally stopped. I'm always terrified people can see it, but I've watched in a mirror and you can't...but it feels gigantic.

That happened to a friend of mine and her Doctor said that glare was a major part of the problem. The suggestions included proper/better lighting, resting her eyes, and wearing (sun)glasses that cut down on the glare.

Good luck

That happens to me when I'm really tired especially during exam time because im not only stressed but spend a lot of time cramming and missing out on sleep. I really should not do that this year. :|

Uuuuuuuuuuugh I hate when that happens LOL...Sometimes I just crack up laughing cos it just won't stop twitching and hubby says "What's wrong with your eye?" I'm like "Dunno it's excited or something" LOL

Based on some other threads, I would guess that there is a little stress in your life.

I go through periods where I have an eye twitch, but when things calm down it goes away.

Hey I had that a couple months ago. Like everybody else said, it can be from stress and/or being on the computer too much. I happened to go on vacation when I had my twitch, and it just went away. It's nothing serious but yeah it makes you feel a little insane :crack: at the time. . .I sometimes would sit there with one finger under my right eye. Is there any way you can take some time off?

my best friend had a spasmodic eye spasisism all through her GCSE exams (big exams taken at 16 here in UK). She was trying to write essays and answer questions and stuff and all she could think about was her spasmodic eye

it gets irritating, doesn't it

HeartlandSoul, the weird thing is that is started the DAY I left for a two week vacation! I just thought it was funny b/c when I was a freshmen and took intro to psych, we were required to sign up for two senior experiments. I did one with an EEG test (where you wear the cap with all the electrodes on your head) and I had this one brain wave from the back left of my head that was way abnormal, lol. The poor girl had to get a Prof and he couldn't figure it out either and was like "uh, maybe you should get that checked". And now I'm having eye spasms for over a month.... :eyebrow:

I'm actually having new trouble with my right eye that's started this week- up close, text is blurry, not really like I'm seeing double, but there's like a shadow of the text and makes it look almost 3D. In order to read up close I have to kinda focus my eyes myself. If only I had rich parents, I could get Lasik..... *dreams*

Uh... well, then maybe you SHOULD get that checked?

You can't toy with this kind of things. :shame:

Yeah, probably, but I just don't have the time or money to be seeing a neurologist on top of everything else. Maybe the girl just messed up her experiment anyway.

That's puzzling. . .really strange.

Let's see what my Healthwise Handbook says. "Eye twitches or muscle spasms around the eye are most often associated with fatigue or stress. Twitches will usually stop on their own in a short time, and they will improve with rest or reduced stress. Call a healthcare professional if twitches occur with redness, swelling, discharge from the eye, or fever, or if eye twitches last longer than one week."

Since it's lasted more than a week yeah you should definitely get that checked out.

I get migraines which also can include blurred vision. Sometimes migraines can appear JUST as blurred vision. You better get that checked out! :p Better safe than sorry. Yeah maybe start with your campus health center and see what they say. . .

My campus health center is shit. They make you wait a week for an appointment, then tell you you need to see a specialist somewhere else. However, my uncle is an optomorist. I saw him just a day or two before my eye started twitching b/c my left eye had got much worse even before I was due for an annual exam so he did an eye exam and increased the strength in my left eye (which has been wonderful for that eye, no problems there). I'm beginning to wonder if that's the problem though. My uncle originally told me he didn't want to increase my perscription again unless necessary b/c it could make it difficult to read. So for a long time I had a stronger perscription in my weaker eye that made it still better than my left eye, so the right eye was for seeing far away and the left eye was for reading up close. But I was beginning to feel cross eyed and asked him to increase the strength on the left eye (like I said above) which he did. So maybe he was right and I have to sacrifice being able to see farther in order to read books and the computer screen. Anyway, the right eye only twitched a few times today while I was yawning so maybe it's finally tapering off.

I've never had an eye twitch thingie, but I'd imagine that it could be eye strain or maybe just plain stress. I've heard of people who are in stressful circumstances getting this. Judging from some of your other posts I would say you're under a ton of stress. It doesn't sound fun. Maybe you can get it looked at.

theyre stress related? i never knew that.

i used to get them all the time last year, but then again, that makes sense now.

Still twitchin' away! It seems now that it twitches when I'm yawning (stretching those eye muscles), nervous, or anxious about something. Even a "good" sort of anxious stimulates twitching. I've been getting it a lot lately in class where the Prof is preparing for a discussion and I'm acutally thinking about the topic or thinking of a possible response. It's not that I'm nervous to speak in class or anything; it's like anything I'm semi-excited or really thinking about...the twitching goes nutso, even when I'm completely comfortable with my surroundings. I have to see the eye doctor again soon anyway so maybe I can replicate the problem for him. The new problem is mostly that I cannot read text close up or the computer screen, but ironically my eye never twitches when this happens. I doubt the two are related since this blurred vision just started last week. I think I got a defective batch of contacts actually.
