I can't hear myself think in a Hollister store

And their tops are NOT made for someone who has something remotely resembling a chest.

True Religions are worth the money..I have a pair from almost 2 years ago that I have worn the crap out of. I can wear them 6 times before washing...they don't stretch out, don't shrink in the wash, and don't wear thin. I can't say the same about the 20 other 'bargain buys' that hang unworn in my closet because they either shrunk up or just don't wear well. Plus, True's are made in the USA. Rock and Republic are nice for fit but are not as solid, IMO.

I must admit, though, that I do dig their live beach webcam screens.

I could stand there and watch those for hours.

Me too because I start dreaming of being at the beach on a cold day

As soon as I can get ahold of a spare $100 I'm off to JWs to get myself 2 pairs of the ones I'm wearing right now. So perfect. I need more in different colours. I'll be set for the next few years, provided my weight doesn't shift drastically in either direction.

I found the best jeans this week-at Macys. Jeanstar brand. I've never tried them before but I saw a rack of 75 % off original price-they had white and dark wash. My friend let me put them on her Macy's charge and with that and a coupon they were 8 and 10 dollars a pair!

The style is called delle-they're bootcut and curvy fit through the hip and thigh-and not too low rise. They're great for warmer weather, lighter weight denim. The length is great for me-I'm 5'9 1/2"-for someone a couple of inches shorter than that they'd be good with a higher heel.

The most frustrating part was that I wanted two blue pair for that price-and the other two I tried on in my size were tighter and didn't fit like the pair I bought I'm not crazy about white jeans but they actually look ok and for that price I couldn't pass them up.

I've worn the blue ones and they didn't stretch out so far (one of my biggest pet peeves). I washed them so I'll see how they look the next time I wear them. But so far they are extremely comfy and they're slimming/flattering. Marshalls and TJ Maxx also carry Jeanstar but not for that price. Bargain jeans that look good are such a thrill

Macy's is having a great sale this weekend. I might go and get a new suitcase for my Dublin trip.

I was in Nordstrom buying some new bras, and wandered over to the area where they had the fancy-schmancy jeans. I ended up trying on a pair of Citizens of Humanity jeans.

I bought them, even though the price was outrageous. I was amazed that a pair of jeans would look so nice on me. They're being altered (they were a shorter length, but still too long), and I can't wait to pick them up.

I'm pretty sure I'm ridiculously late to the thread but I thought I'd throw my two cents in. I'm rather picky about jeans, and they like to be difficult in return. I like them snug, and I'm pretty tiny, but most jeans I try never fit me around the waist/hips. I tend to go to lowrise just because they fit my frame better.
Anyway, after much searching my current pairs are all from BlueNotes. I got em on sale for under 30$, they have nice washes without any fancy shamancy stuff, have held up to washing and generally I am pleased with them.
Before that I used to wear Mavi - but they changed the cut, so I had to seek a new brand.

Post back how they wear, if you don't mind. I like the way they look, too, but haven't invested in a pair. I hear you, I have to pretty much alter everything, even capris because they just look like floods otherwise.

Brightest Star (I was going to just use the initials but decided against it! ) I haven't heard of those brands. Are you in the US?

No worries, if you had used my initials I wouldn't have taken offense.

People usually call me Bri.

I'm in Canada.
Bluenotes is a store, and it appears they are only in canada. I thought they were in the US too, but I guess not. They have their own store brand of jeans, morgan fits me best - and has a slight flare leg which I like. I don't think I'm cool enough for skinny jeans. heh

Mavi is a brand, that I've seen sold in a variety of stores, but usually in limited selection.

Pictures Please! of the being on top and the bottom and the jeans and such.

(I'm spying on the girls' thread but I do buy my wife's clothes for her because she hates shopping)

Bri it is, then. Nice to meet you. I agree with you on the flare, they are actually universally flattering. I don't own superskinny jeans, but I have a pair or two that are definately more than straight leg. J Brand makes a cute one with zippers at the bottom that I have, and the other I got at Tilly's. You may not know that store, it's like a teenage surf style clothing store I can't believe I'm admitting to shopping at! They were cheap and fit well
