I'd prefer we have it in November like the Americans - they (stores, tv, etc) seem to only start talking about Xmas right after their Thanksgiving whereas we seem to do it just after Halloween.

i forgot about thanksgiving this year. have to say i was rather embarassed when a colleague said happy cdn thanksgiving to me on monday, and i only realised it at that point.
