If you're in a position of power you have an obligation to conduct yourself with more care than the average person. That may not be a fair expectation, and it is not how the real world operates most of the time but ethics should matter. If a guy doesn't have the brains to figure out that sending pictures of his weiner to random girls is stupid, I don't want him working on the budget.

Seeing as we just had a special election in New York to replace a Republican who resigned under eerily similar circumstances. If he doesn't resign it will be a big campaign issue even given that it is a safe Dem seat.

i was surprised that Lee resigned. but then, Dems don't set themselves up for charges of sexual hypocrisy like the GOP does.

why? and i mean that as a serious question. i agree that he shouldn't have lied, but this was not a lie about a crime it was a lie about an embarrassing photo. he was also incredibly stupid, but does this affect how we see his political judgment or ability to lead? perhaps, but shouldn't that be decided by voters in the next election?

no one was harassed, everything was consensual. there is no evidence of actual physical infidelity. there's no crusading about sexual "morality" to indicate hypocrisy.

chances are, he was online late at night and sending sexual messages to women who would sext him back and he'd probably masturbate and go to bed next to his wife.

gee, no men ever do that.

the Democrats have ordered an ethics probe. what else is there to do?
