Nancy Pelosi is also demanding that Kleenex should be supplied at all computer terminals

Where does it say that in the article? Or did Rush say that? Obviously they're not going to allow masturbation in the library.

I've seen a guy in my town's public library looking at something on the public computers that certainly looked objectionable, caught a glimpse of it when I was walking by. There are kids who use the same computers, and they are in banks of two with no real privacy between them. Do I think people should be doing that on a public computer in a library? No. But I don't think libraries should be banning books either, so I guess you have to take the bad with the good. Unfortunately. If you have to allow it I'd rather have a privacy screen to limit how much of it can be seen by others.

To be honest, I don't think that this has much of anything to do with "why our country is messed up".

Libraries are funded by my tax dollars. If I want to masturbate in one, it's my constitutional right!

I've worked in a public library for twelve years and it's always been legal to view adult sites in our district.

It's called freedom of information.

In fact, one of my favorite things to do is to tell the people who complain about someone viewing pornography is that they are the ones who have in fact violated library policy by infringing on another patron's right to privacy. It's no one else's business who views what, or reads what. That said, if we don't see both hands on the keyboard we won't hesitate to issue a trespass notice because masturbating is obviously not allowed.

We never even talked about such an issue at the library I worked at-I don't know if people were able to look at porn there or not. If they were, it must not have been a problem for anyone, 'cause I don't recall any issues with that.

I couldn't look at porn in a public place, it'd be far too weird. But if it's legal, and they've got the headphones so they alone can hear it and stuff, well...*Shrugs*. It's no different, really, than guys coming into bookstores to look at adult magazines or people looking at sex books in the love & marriage sections and such.
