Why do you keep saying no worries lol

that makes it sound like either a) I apologized for something or b) an equivalent of the classical Missourian “bless your heart”

No need to apologize at all.

Trump is being indicted to wash away our sins.

Remember... If they can arrest Trump for stealing highly classified military documents, lying about it, and showing it to random people? They can arrest any of us for stealing highly classified military documents, lying about it, and showing it to random people.

Really makes you think.

Minneapolis Fed chief Kashkari hopeful US economy can avoid recession as inflation fight continues
https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/othe...es/ar-AA1ez4RN

Quote:
The odds of the U.S. avoiding a deep recession and achieving a "soft landing" are rising as the Federal Reserve tries to bring down inflation, but the economy isn’t out of the woods yet according to a key figure at the central bank.

Neel Kashkari, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, appeared on CBS’ "Face the Nation" Sunday and told host Margaret Brennan that he agrees with Fed economists who increasingly view the U.S. economy as likely to end this inflation cycle without a significant hit to the labor market.

..."Nonetheless, I’m not going to dismiss the hardship that Americans are feeling. High inflation for several years has really put a dent in people’s pocketbooks. We’re now starting to dig our way out of that," he explained.

...When asked whether the Fed plans to raise interest rates one more time in 2023 given that inflation slowed to 3% on an annual basis in June – down from a 40-year high of 9.1% inflation the U.S. faced last year but still above the Fed’s 2% target – Kashkari said policymakers will weigh the data before making a decision.

...Kashkari went on to say that although he thinks there will be some job losses coming to the U.S. economy as interest rates remain elevated, he believes it will be possible to have modest increases in the unemployment rate and still manage to pull off a "soft landing" that avoids a deep recession.

..."We definitely want to avoid a deep recession where you have hundreds of thousands of people losing their jobs month after month, the kind of painful recession that we have seen in the past. If we can achieve 2% inflation with only a modest softening in the labor market, I think that would be a resounding positive outcome for the country as a whole."
Coming out of the Covid years, an outcome like this Fed president describes would be a great development . We're still probably stuck with the current grocery bills and most other everyday items, but at least the odds of a big recession seem to be going down.

This chart right here is a gentle reminder that Trump winning the nomination is a good thing.

I would say that the inevitability that one of our two parties is (once again) going to nominate a criminal and a moron is not "good" for the country.

But it is, at the very least, good for the democrats.

As David Green pulled out his phone to show me pictures from the Trump rally he attended, he swiftly closed out the Grindr app after unlocking his phone.

Another reminder that thinking Trump is easily beatable is INSANE LOGIC. If it wasn't for COVID, he would have won again. I have always lived in a very blue state -- MA - NY - CT... so my vote doesn't matter much.

Stop him NOW.

Trump is not stoppable in a Republican primary.

He is not electable in a general election. especially when you consider that there's a better than 50/50 chance that the man will be in prison well in advance of election day.

You can't peel off 20% of your own party, plus 70% of independents and damn near all of the other party and win in a general election.

which is why the republicans have under performed in every single election since 2016.

this is what your fear of trump consistently overlooks.

Yep. It's simple math. In addition to what you just laid out, there's also the fact that even though Biden isn't popular the voters will turn out in record numbers to vote for him with the sole intention of keeping Trump out.

Stopped by to say that “Barbie” is the best piece of art created in response to the Dobbs so far.

You have to be fucking kidding me? You seem to overlook that the asshole WAS PRESIDENT FROM 2016-2020 and barely lost in 2020 and now is in a 50/50 race in 2024 even though he's on trial every single day until Nov 2024.

I don't want to be right. But you are the ones that can't do math.

HE WILL NEVER BE IN PRISON ONE DAY IN HIS LIFE.

You guys make it sound like Trump lost to Clinton in 2016...

They did that in 2020. And if 40,000 votes went the other way in the states that mattered, Trump would be in charge right now.

You guys seem to ignore that SIMPLE MATH.

And the fact that 3rd parties stayed out of it mostly in 2020, not so in 2016 -- and in 2024 here comes NO LABELS and others to take votes away from Biden...

We live in a razor thin society political wise...

I'm just dumbfounded.
