Can we stop with this pipe dream fantasy bullshit?

You're not packing the courts without getting rid of the filibuster. Yelling about packing the courts is just a waste of hot air. It's not happening without either the elimination of the filibuster or the democrats taking 60 seats in 2022.

And there's no chance the Dems ever sniff taking 60 seats in the Senate. It's not looking great for the House in 2022.

The GOP for as stupid as they come across (and are) just know how to rig the game. With all the gerrymandering, restrictions, and other BS that's been passed all throughout the country, it's just not reasonable to expect "bigger turnout!!" as the answer.

It's up to Biden, Chuck, and anyone else to beat it into those Senators who refuse to budge. The above point about expanding courts is this, even if they get rid of the filibuster and pass any Voting Rights Act, it'll just be dissolved by the SC

They aren't going to get to 60, but they might be able to add 2-4 more seats - especially if they are shown to be putting forth every possible effort only to have it blocked by the republicans. Which is what they're doing.

And then, perhaps, your have enough votes to institute some sort of reform to the filibuster.

So, yes - the democrats should continue to at the very least give the appearance of trying to work with the republicans on what are stupid popular bills.

So that they can then use it to flip just enough seats to strip the filibuster and actually accomplish something.

It's the only thing that matters.

Even with a few more senate seats in 2022, I still don't see enough Republicans agreeing to filibuster reform.

I agree they should keep attempting to project trying to work with Republicans through the 2022 elections, but then after that, if they don't have filibuster support, go nuclear.

At some point you just have to say fuck it.

It's a holiday weekend? Happy things? Come on, that's a Trump type of response.

Fox News

President Biden grew irked Friday with repeated press questions about the Afghanistan troop drawdown, saying he didn't want to answer any more on the topic because it was a holiday weekend.

Following remarks on a positive June jobs report, Biden took multiple questions about the situation in Afghanistan, where the country faces a possible fall to the Taliban as U.S. forces are withdrawn. After receiving questions on the nation's security issues and the withdrawal timeline, Biden said he wanted to talk about "happy things."

"I'm not going to answer any more … Look, it's the Fourth of July," Biden said after a fourth query about Afghanistan. "I'm concerned that you guys are asking me questions that I'll answer next week. But this is a holiday weekend, I'm going to celebrate it. There's great things happening."

Hmmm, Donald seemed concerned about Ghislaine

Yahoo news

Donald Trump took a "sudden interest" in Ghislaine Maxwell's case as he was considering who to pardon in the final week of his presidency, journalist Michael Wolff alleges in a new book.

Maxwell, a close associate of Jeffrey Epstein, is awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges, to which she has pleaded not guilty. Epstein died in jail last year while he was awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges.

According to Wolff's new book "Landslide"- his second detailing the Trump presidency - the former president's attention turned to Maxwell and her case as he looked for potential candidates for a presidential pardon, according to an extract published by the Times of London.

According to Wolff, Trump was "bored" by the "process and details" of pardoning individuals but was determined to use the executive power granted to presidents before he departed the White House.

Wolff said he would frequently interrupt conversations to ask: "Why do you think should be pardoned? Give me one person - who's your top pick?"

Of Maxwell, he asked "Has she said anything about me?" according to the book. Wolff reports that he added: "Is she going to talk? Will she roll on anybody?"

Eric Adams, former cop, is elected mayor of one of the most diverse cities on earth. he was put in office by the highly diverse/multi-ethnic working classes.

sure, it's a small section of the population who even voted, but the Biden trend seems to hold -- people move to the center as they get older, and once their lives solidify they tend to not only vote more cautiously, but also consistently ... and not just when Obama is on a ticket somewhere.

and that's what wins elections.

"Reminiscent of the Giuliani news conference, Siravo said the concert will play in front of Four Seasons’s now-immortalized green and white garage door (repainted in November with a fresh coat). A Four Seasons’ truck will be on site for selfies, food and bathrooms available, merchandise for sale from local T-shirt company Philly Drinkers , as well as a couple of surprises — including a possible appearance by a Giuliani cardboard cutout, mailed to the landscaping company by a fan."

So 0.08% of all student loan debt. Let’s not laud this as an achievement just because $1.5 billion sounds like a lot of money.

We are in for a disgusting future of inherited wealth if the problem is not adequately addressed.

Just read that they were cheering at CPAC about low vaccination rates. Literally willing to die for Trump.

Its just mind boggling.
All one has to do is look at who's contracting Covid/getting hospitalized/dying currently and see that its 99.7% unvaccinated folks, yet these people think its a good thing to avoid the vaccine.
And Trump himself got the vaccine(secretly of course), yet they still won't.

And of course it's completely illogical, because they shouldn't want their fellow Trump voters dying off. Guess they haven't thought that through?

All they care about is Biden looking bad, even at the expense of their own health and possibly life. But when Trump was pushing warp speed vaccines they were touting that. It's as if he exerts mind control.
