in my eyes bono lost credibility and integrity as he met bush and praised him months ago as a great person

Also - Bono's goals had a higher purpose - in order to get US financial support, he needed to reach out to both "sides" of the political fence. Every US president is also the Commander in Chief of the armed forces. In this era - that will mean dealing out death. Should Bono not work with Pres. Obama because of the drone attacks? Or the upcoming bombing of Syria? Should he not have worked with Pres. Clinton for ordering the bombing of Iraq? Maybe Bono shouldn't have worked with any US president for this reason, but that would have diminished Bono's effectiveness at raising the funds that saved and improved countless lives. |

Bono wouldn't have been able to get their support if he just said 'nah ur shit lololo' to their faces.

ok its of course awesome to all of the people in iraq+ afghanistan who lost their relatives in a war, which was not necessarily and all the guys in the us, who were against bush, that bono praised him as a great person by 2013
unlike madonna, rem. dixie chicks etc. who risked their career and spoke out against him, bono was only an ass kissing puppet + |

Yeah, those two wars were wrong and terrible. But Bono had to do what he had to do. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Or should I say dawn? |

Like it or not, Bush was the president at that time. If you want to make a difference, you don't wait 8 years until a guy's out of office before bending the ear of the President of the United States. As president, Bush did some bad things, no doubt. But his help for African aid is an undeniably good thing, and it wouldn't have happened if Bono refused to work with him. |

That an Irish rock singer was able to positively effect change from the American government is amazing in and of itself. To expect him to be able to do it on more than one front is asking a laughable amount from Bono.

Maybe Bono can work on getting the Illuminati on board this time? If Iovine lets him.

I do think Chris brings up an interesting point. How much should we "compromise" to achieve a "higher" goal? For instance, Abraham Lincoln is considered one of the masters of this art. But many considered him weak and a sellout. Is compromise a necessary evil?
