I have actually heard all of these personally, even from my own family.

The legality of SSM has no effect on assholes being assholes, trust me.
Yeah I keep hearing that shit over and over again too. Luckily I have a few friends who share my view. There's enough people on this planet, if I ever feel the need to nurture something I'll get a cat (ok I lie, I have a cat already).

It's kinda ironic they call you selfish and entitled. Why do people MUST produce their own offspring when there's so many orphans in the world? If they were truly selfless they'd adopt instead.

owait, that's exactly what a lot of gay people do when they want children. BUT THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!!!!!

The article Mrs Garrison post makes me more sad than laughing at it... It's a fucked up world if a gay person is discriminating himself for who he is, just to desperately keep trying to fit the ideal picture of society in his head.

This crazy idea that marriage must be tied to kids is fraught with logical fallacies, but it is the sort of last vestige of what many of these people have to hang on to.

As an aside it really bugs me when these kids of statements are made. As if adoption is easy or cheap or readily available to everyone. I know plenty of people who have dealt with infertility and have sunk TENS of thousands of dollars into adoptions, applied with multiple agencies, are on a wait list, etc. It is an extremely difficult, expensive and emotionally taxing time (you try taking home a baby where the birth mother changes her mind in two weeks). People make it sound as if you can walk into a grocery store and buy a kid.

I know it's very hard to adopt, but it was just for the sake of the argument that not wanting kids is selfish. It takes a lot of time, money and guts to adopt a child and I applaud people who make that choice. But above all I think people should be free to make their own choice in having kids or not without being bitched at.

there should be a service that time shares kids

(and pets)

if four couples can own a vacation home, why not share a kid.

And even for straight women it'll be a treat too.

Nebraska woman files suit in federal court against all homosexuals - Omaha.com: Nebraska

I guess this is gonna require the largest courtroom ever.

Hasn't this already been thrown out?

Seriously though, why is it always someone in the mid-west or the south that does this? Could just as easily read "Woman in Kansas.." or Oklahoma, etc. Never someone in New York or Oregon.

Texas, it's your turn now.

Is it bad that I'm mildly irritated that even when there are restaurants like this with male servers, it's still aimed at men? Women never get nice things .

There, there. It's aimed at men but they're not banning women from being there and ogling.

It's a shame though, there must be a market for straight women as well. Yet nobody does it cause the men cough up more cash.

Bono meanwhile spoke briefly to journalists who congregated in Chambar’s with the band. I asked him for his views on the upcoming same sex marriage referendum, which takes place in Ireland on May 22.

“Trying to co-opt the word ‘marriage’ is like trying to co-opt the word ‘love’,” he told me. "You can’t own this. You can’t own it. Marriage is now an idea that transcends religion. It’s owned by the people. They can decide what defines it. It’s not a religious institution. As far as I know, Jesus was never married – and neither are most priests that talk about it.

“So it’s not a religious idea, necessarily. Marriage is one of the most impossible human traits… the hardest to hold on to. The idea that one community can own this, and another can’t, seems wrong to me.”
