Of sheer ignorance, enjoy the musings of the chairman of the Texas Board of Education as they decide to push some old time religion into the classroom.

YouTube - SBOE Chair Don McLeroy expounds on his view of Evolution

"Somebody's gotta stand up to these experts" - all of us experts are in on the scam, we are promulgating naturalistic atheism under the guise of science and will ultimately claim all your children.

"(This standard) doesn't take complicated mathematics, it takes looking up a chart" - generally simple communication of ideas is a good thing, but using mathematics as a whipping post to show how simple the "teach the controversy" curriculum is just leaves me cold.

"Stasis is data" - Species persist unchanged in the fossil record, but this is an artifact of how speciation is preserved in the fossil record, not evidence that speciation doesn't happen.

"Sudden appearance (of new phyla in the fossil record) raises problems for common ancestry" - it doesn't, soft bodied Ediacaran fossils may push back the origination of major groups and the Cambrian explosion lasted up to 20 million years.

If only they could get their wish, teach nonsense to children, and watch how they stop producing cutting edge science for a generation or two.

There is only one thing to blame here.

And it doesn't have anything to do with where this guy is from.

What is that?
Well what would require ignorance in otherwise non-ignorant, reasonably intelligent people?
