I was interested in hearing what others had to say and it seemed others were too. If anyone wants to continue the conversation, please go ahead. If everyone feels it has reached it's logical conclusion, then this should be buried in no time

Er. No. If the thread starter's not okay with the direction the thread's going in, it's his or her prerogative to ask that it be closed, and all the usual rules about spinoffs etc. still apply to threads closed for that reason. Furthermore comments like "...because one person wanted to take their ball and go home" don't help discussion at all, and tend to reflect poorly on the tolerance of the speaker rather than their intended target.

I've no doubt we'll all have another go at this general topic in the future, it's one of those perennially charged issues.
