Sounds like a ruse to knock Obama some more.

I just starting watching Glenn Beck's program thanks to all you folks. Glenn has a good sense of humor and at the same time presents his point of view. Everyday, I am trying to read through these pages of post. In order to educate myself. I value different perspectives. Leaning is great!

In most cases, adult onset macular dystrophy results in only mild loss of vision. Unless his doctor said something specific (and based on his "I might go blind, I might not" statement, I doubt it), he's dumbing it down for his audience like he always does and his statements are a bit misleading.

Glenn hit a new low today on his radio show.

He went into a whole conspiracy theory about how Obama is purposely keeping us in Iraq and Afghanistan(two wars he didn't want us to pull out of back in Nov) in order to fulfill a manifesto written by the Weather Underground. If we over extend our Miliatary we are one step closer to world communism, and then went on a tangent of how this is inlign with Black Liberation.

He says we're dealing with "pure evil".

The answer to that question is complicated and may be answered differently depending on whether you talk to say Strongbow or Irvine. In any case it's best saved for one of the other threads on that topic.

However, just to head off Beck's logic. Let's say for a moment that this preposterous theory of his was true. Obama, in his nefarious effort to overextend and weaken the United States military and pave the way for World Communism, would have to have the support of virtually all of the top military leaders in the region including Petreaus. These leaders have been vocal supporters of staying the course and would like to be there long enough to "get the job done." They are NOT arguing "we need to leave" while Obama inexplicably insists on staying and ratcheting up the troop numbers. So they would definitely have to be part of the plot. However, most of these leaders were in place (and making the same arguments) before Obama even got into office. So either the plot would either have to have originated from within the military or Obama must have had far reaching power that went back well before he was elected that enabled him to secretly place his key allies in top military posts so that they would be ready to work with him after he orchestrated his own election to the presidency.

Thanks, didn't mean to go off topic. I have only been watching Glenn's show, for the past week. I don't agree with everything he says. Some of it is amusing, though. Like quoting Dr. Zeus. He must be a fan!
