I totally feel like Tallahassee. I have searched my city high and low and there is not a Twinkie to be found.

However you are in luck if you were a fan of the ORANGE cupcakes.

This is the scene at every place I went.

Our Hostess/Wonder bread store is apparently closing its doors in light of what happened. Saddest thing in the world, but the 50% off sale today was beast mode:

Most of this stuff is going to end up at family gatherings, but it was fun to be a part of today.

Supposedly they're going to have more of the good stuff on the shelves in the morning when they have a chance to restock. I'm going to stop by and see. Should be fun.

I was only sad that the dog wasn't in focus as well. But they were definitely curious as to what on earth I was doing.

No Twinkies?

I found a store with boxes of GLO BALLS (orange sno balls for Halloween) I bought 3 boxes. (I'll freeze them. Sno Balls were my guilty pleasure for my whole life so I had to do it.)

I haven't eaten a twinkie in over 2 years.

I have a feeling that twinkies were once part of a popular snack movement, and have diminished in popularity ever since that movement. The same thing with Pokemon, they were massively popular during the 1999-2001 period but they are almost forgotten as of today.

The wide availability of TWINKS, on the other hand, keeps being a growing phenomenon...

I love the dog and cat popping up in your photo, Comet. The cat looks particularly interested, like, "What's going on? What is all this?"

Plus, aw, pets .

Our final haul. That was fun. And a good excuse to eat really awfully for a few days. Now we wait for the announcement of when Twinkies will return.

One store gave us the display box since we took the last item.

May not have to wait long:

Exclusive: Sun Capital wants to buy Hostess - The Term Sheet: Fortune's deals blog Term Sheet

I bought a couple of packages of Zingers, but that was about it. It's not like I eat them all the time, anyway. Can't even remember the last time I ate a Twinkie.

And yeah same here. I only wanted a Twinkie because I couldn't have a Twinkie.

I do however love Sno Balls and still ate them every once in a while.

Looks like the hoarding was premature. Hostess and the Bakers Union have come to an agreement. Twinkies are safe.

Gotta say I now know why I hadn't eaten some of that stuff for the last 30 years.

The Sno Balls and Cherry Fruit Pies were divine though.

Michelle Obama will probably have the President put them out of business again. No gifts of Twinkies.

I saw some recipe on TV for healthier, more natural Twinkies. I can't remember it but you could probably Google it. The person who tried one claimed they tasted similar, but I doubt that. This will be good publicity for the products, but I think they will have to eventually try to go healthier in order to survive.

As long as they never stop making real potato chips and Oreos I'll be happy.
