What effects do you think edge is using? Love that shimmer bit even tho I don't hear that on the album version

well, before E_O takes away, we got to mention the basic rig, though.
So guitar is LP Jr. (with single P-90), which is best choice for those dirty sound in the intro.
Effects are all coming from Axe-Fx, so it'll be tough to pin-point specific effects used.
Amp was Fender Tweed. As usual for some "rock" songs.
I also think that that live performance contained some backing track, so some sounds might not be from Edge (unfortunately).

MackTheCasbah is right there was pre recorded parts in the song at the Apple event
yesterday.the delay and shimmer part sounded great but any good delay and shimmer
unit would get you good results or a all in one FX unit like the AXE-FX etc

il get a pic of the pod pro soon with the settings. its played with a A Bar chord then G then F
you just hammer on the first finger on the 5th fret of the A bar chord.

guys heres the full cover of 'The Miracle of joey Ramone
gear used 98 Epi Les paul into my Pod Pro and for the
Shimmer i used my Digitech IPS33b but i may redo the
Shimmer part as it was kind of rushed..

i only used the intro from the original and the rest was a
midi backing track with my parts recorded

Tube Preamp
Drive 1oclock
Bass 1oclock
middle+treble 2oclock

you may need to mess with the Drive between 1 and 2oclock
depending on your guitar but use your ears and youll get the spot

its on Tube preamp..i only use it to record at home so when goin to a Amp
youll need to look at the Pod Pro manual and change settings. theres studio
and live mode switch at the back i believe..

Seems that edge use a 18units aprox rack but the bottom part is empty. And on the top appear some stomp pedal. Well wait for a better quality picture

And the casino is evident because the les paul junior of their first performance has p-90 pickup like that. And i thinkthe first performances was playback

I think Edge likes Casino a lot these days. I mean, he used one a lot for No Line On the Horizon, and i've seen pic. of him using Casino in studio.

i noticed the AXE-FX top unit and bottom unit LED'S
in use.the Floor board is the custom audio one with 4
expression pedals the white boss Tuner

i dont think its the Filter factory maybe sum interface
should be able to see the rack units better on the jools
holland show on tuesday and friday.

I wonder why there's harmonizer, I think Axe can do that
